Rushford at Stonegate is a unique residential addiction program featuring specialized staff and treatment. Each resident’s addiction and mental health needs are evaluated and treated by a multi-disciplinary team utilizing a comprehensive and holistic approach that includes overall physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being.

Rushford at Stonegate offers comprehensive residential treatment for teen boys ages 13 to 18 struggling with substance use, including but not limited to:

  • Opioids (Oxycontin, Percocet, Vicodin, Heroin)
  • Marijuana
  • Hallucinogens (Psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, mescaline)
  • Sedatives-hypnotics (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, Ambien, barbituates)
  • Stimulants (Cocaine, methamphetamine, Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta)
  • Alcohol
  • Inhalants

Residents may also have co-occurring mental health disorders, such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Mood disorders
  • ADHD
  • Other behavioral disorders

Treatment Approach

Rushford at Stonegate uses a feedback-informed treatment model, which caters the therapeutic approach to each individual client’s needs and presentation. The foundation for the program is trauma-informed and built on positive relationships between therapeutic staff and residents in the program. A number of evidence-based treatment styles are used within individual, group and family sessions including:

Recreation Therapy
Recreation therapy is an integral component in the Rushford at Stonegate treatment model. The active and physical nature help residents replace substance use with fun, challenging and sober activities

Group sports activities such as full-court basketball, flag football, kickball and more help teach the value of focus, teamwork, exercise and cooperation, while also reducing stress, improving social skills, increasing tolerance for frustration and offering a sense of accomplishment.

The Rushford at Stonegate on-campus ropes course includes a number of low and high elements that are “challenge by choice.” The course fosters goal setting, anxiety and risk management, group unity, increased physical balance and awareness, along with a sense of accomplishment and the opportunity to overcome fears.

Stonegate residents also participate in a number of different on-campus and off-campus recreational activities. Some recent activities and trips include:
