For teens struggling with mental health or substance use disorders, Rushford offers after-school treatment that focuses on developing coping and stress management skills to encourage healthy decisions and decrease problematic symptoms.
Rushford offers a full continuum of outpatient treatment at its Meriden treatment center ranging from partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient to once-a-week relapse prevention programming.
Rushford’s teen outpatient program offers a wide range of evidence-based treatment options and modalities that improve overall wellness and promote sustained recovery.
A Wide Range of Treatments
Group therapy offers teens a network of peers that support them in creating and achieving goals in recovery through education, art, recreation and other modes.
Addiction Treatment
The Seven Challenges® offers an evidence-based approach to treating addiction. Rather than forcing change, the innovative program motivates teens to examine the importance of their decisions and make healthier choices.
Recovery Can Take a Prescribed Path
Medication-Assisted Treatment utilizes medicines that reduce cravings and withdrawals for opioid addictions, such as buprenorphine (Suboxone®) or naltrexone (Vivitrol®), in conjunction with relapse prevention group therapy to help teens maintain recovery.
Mental Health
At Rushford our experienced staff provides assistance with treating depression, anxiety, PTSD, school issues, self-harm, and other behavioral issues. We provide our care in a safe and neutral environment for our teens to feel comfortable and welcome.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Many adolescents have some degree of emotional dysregulation and some have more severe symptoms that have led to a hospital visit. Rushford’s DBT track will help adolescents who struggle to manage their emotions and behaviors by utilizing an evidence-based model called DBT to teach them the skills they need to gain better control in these areas, which will reduce safety concerns, prevent future hospitalizations and overall improve their quality of life.
Note
Rushford’s Adolescent program offers transportation to clients that live in the following towns only: Meriden, Wallingford, Cheshire, Southington, Durham and Middletown.
