Emily Stanford, DO

Dr. Stanford received her DO degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut. She is an internal medicine hospitalist in the East Region for Hartford Healthcare. She is interested in improving disparities in the inpatient usage of medications for both opioid and alcohol use disorder. After graduation from her fellowship, she will be starting a part-time inpatient consult service in addiction medicine and will continue to work as a hospitalist.

Gayle Harris, MD

Dr. Harris is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and has practiced OB/GYN for 25 years in the Greater Hartford area. She was a subspecialist with a practice primarily dedicated to vulvar vaginal disease. A few years ago, she became interested in addiction medicine after working at York Correctional Institution, the women’s prison in Niantic. After seeing the devastating effects of addiction on patients and families, she decided to pursue specialized training in Addiction Medicine to further her knowledge of the specialty. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, crocheting, and reading. She has four wonderful children and one grandso,n who are her pride and joy.


Tricia Machinski, MD

Tricia Machinski, MD

Dr. Machinski attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at St. Johns Hospital in Queens, NY. Dr. Machinski is a seasoned OB/GYN at York Correctional Institute, where she has taken a special interest in the treatment of inmates with substance use disorders. She has chosen to pursue subspecialty training in addiction medicine with Rushford, and after her fellowship, she hopes to further expand substance use disorder resources within the carceral system. In her spare time, Dr. Machinski enjoys boating, spending time with her family, and horseback riding.
