Rushford fellows will have multiple weekly didactic sessions. Each week fellows will have protected time to join the national American College of Academic Addiction Medicine (ACAAM) curriculum. Additionally, there are numerous Rushford and Institute of Living educational sessions which include topics such as basics of SUD management, journal club, safety event discussions, guest speakers, and Grand Rounds.
Fellows will additionally have numerous educational opportunities to develop their own teaching skills. Rushford is a rotation site for University of Connecticut Internal Medicine residents, Institute of Living psychiatry residents, Quinnipiac University Family Medicine residents, and learners from several other institutions. Fellows benefit from both teaching and learning from these other trainees. Fellows also give regular lectures to IOP and residential rehab patients, which is a wonderful opportunity to interact with our patients in a group setting.

Fellows are strongly encouraged and are fully reimbursed to attend the annual American Society of Addiction Medicine conference, which provides extremely valuable learning and networking opportunities.
